Ive applied %26amp; gotten tons of annoying calls %26amp; letters about scam work at home jobs where they want you to pay to get information or supplies to work at home, no thanks, obvious scams! Im wondering if there are any real, legit work at home jobs doing data entry/customer service work?? Any information is appreciated!!
Does anyone know of any legit NON SCAM work at home data entry jobs? Im tired of the scam ones, only legit pls
There are a few legitimate data entry companies but are not hiring and have large waiting lists (1-2yrs). The majority of data entry jobs you seen online are scams. A real company will want you to have skills (fast typing, 10 key), may want you to know excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but it is rare.
One option is to freelance and bid for data entry jobs. However, you are bidding along with many people and often other countries-so you may have to bid really low just to get a job and/or project.
Another option is to offer data entry services to businesses in your area. It can be done, I know people who have done this but it is not easy to do.
This website explains how to find a genuine data entry job from home:

Reply:You will hear of a lot of people who claim to have found this work and are making a fortune. The only way they really make money is by getting others to pay them to find work - not by actual work.

There are data entry jobs available, but they are generally only available very locally. The pace of business today prohibits the type of data entry you remember from years back. However, there are always businesses which need to take analog data (maybe handwritten job applications, for example) and turn them into computer entries. Even with optical character recognition, there is still a need to data enter or verify what the system read. Occasionally, this work can be done from home once you've proven yourself with the employer.
Look for evening shifts for data entry (often found thru temp agencies) and once you've built a reputation, see if their servers can be accessed remotely so you could work from home. I think more and more of these jobs will be done at home, but they will extremely short time-lines, what comes in today needs to be in the system tonight, for example, with none of the flexibility you remember.
Good luck.
Reply:I honestly don't know if such a place exists. I'd like to think that one day someone *will* find one.
Yes there is medical transcription, but if you don't already do it, it can be difficult to get someone to hire you. My best friend took an at-home course in it (I have no idea how much she spent), and she did well. But since the program ended about a year ago, she has yet to find someone willing to take a chance on her.
Also, the Jeff guy who first answered your question, he fits my criteria for "scammer".
