Anyone who claims they have work-at-home data entry jobs for you are scammers. Stay away from them, and don't send them any money or give them any of your personal information!

Reply:Data-entry job websites are usually scams -- you have to pay for a list of prospective "employers" or some other questionable deal.
If you really want to work at home, contact local businesses which do a great deal of data-entry, and see if you can do the work on a "telecommute" basis. You will need experience and references!
Frankly, there just isn't all that much pure data-entry work out there any more. Payroll data-entry really has to be done in-house for security concerns, but technology has reduced the amount of data-entry involved for payroll work anyway. And the pay is stinking poor.

Your best bet is to use those skills in conjunction with others and do things like at home customer care representative, transcription, writer, proofreader, editor, blogger, telemarketing from home, mystery shopping, virtual assistant, and freelance projects. I worked as a virtual call center agent for West At Home part time and made any where from $200-$400 every two weeks. I am a mother of two little girls who are actually tugging on my arm as I write this so I will try to be brief. Many people are looking for work from home companies. All the scams definitely create a big problem but also, there is a problem of people misunderstanding the difference between work from home "jobs" and work from home opportunities. There really are not work from home “jobs”. To get that you have to start working for a company in their offices first, then they MAY allow you to take the job home.
Most of the work from home opportunities that are legitimate offers are not an hourly pay type job. They are business opportunities that help you in starting your own business from your home.
What you should do first is to decide if you are simply looking for an hourly rate type job or if you are looking for more of an opportunity for additional income such as what you would make in your own business being your own boss from home. Many say a JOB stands for Just Over Broker and I have found that to be true as well. I never got anywhere working for others.
Small home businesses have some small costs involved, less then $100 to start is reasonable and I would stay away from those wanting $300, $500 even some asking for $1000-$5000. It doesn’t cost that much to start and run a home business so you shouldn’t pay it. The real ones will have a small monthly overhead as well. Should be around $50 a month but no more then $75. And everything should be included from your web sites to training and team support to back office accounting and booking. It’s ok to pay this overhead because it’s a business, they cost money. It’s not reasonable to assume you can run a business from home with a website and more for free so do keep that in mind as you search.
If you are coming across places that say free then I would RUN don’t walk the other way! They never are. I tried them many a times and 3 weeks later I had to buy this and 6 weeks later that. After 6 months these “free businesses” had cost me over $800 on average.

4) Do not "process payments" for anyone, you could end up in the big house.
5) Is the job they are offering going to "change your life", I doubt it.
6) Legitimate companies will not advertise their jobs on banners or spam mail.
As you can probably tell I've seen just about every bad job offering out there and I get really irritated with all the promises and such. And I hate to see good people throw away their money.

Also in terms of Pay which is higher? See what my problem is that I was hired as a Data Entry Clerk. I been here for one year and half but I feel like am doing secretary work. I answer phone, make copies, etc. If that was the case I didn't know I will be switching into secretary. My paycheck still says Clerk, so what the hell. I feel like I am not getting paid enough. How do I know if they were suppose to change my title or raise my pay.

find an e-data-entry job. Classic pyramid scam!
There is a website that post daily telecommute jobs. The jobs where you must send them a resume and interview for them.
Many of them are sales or web programming jobs, but there are some for data entry and clerical type work.

These are basically listings of businesses (simliar to the phone book). The advantage is that these portals usually get a lot of traffic and they're ranked high on Google because of all the quality links they contain.
My favorite portal is called Directory Exclusive. I signed up a few weeks ago because they're giving a away a free business card holder when a person enter's their company info. I received it in the mail 3 days ago =)

I am creating a leads database for my work and I would like to track which products my leads are interested in. I would like to one checkbox for each product that I sell (there are 8) so that if a customer is interested in three of them I can check off which they are and then have the data saved in my master table? You can get started with no financial investment, see how it goes, and grow the business as you are comfortable with it. It is fun, profitable, and you can work around your family's schedule.

A real company will want you to have skills (fast typing, 10 key), may want you to know excel, and will usually ask that you have high speed internet. Once in a long while you may found one online on a job website but it is rare.

You need to know how to run transcription machine and know medical terminology. Some places require a college degree in medical transcription, but with your office experience you could probably get into this type of work.
