What's all the fuss about data entry jobs?

I'm talking about the physical-life jobs that people post ads for in newspapers. What's the difference between these and online data entry jobs? What's all this stuff about scams and $300 a month?

All you do is ENTER DATA correct?? :P Every company needs some kind of computer database to keep track of things, so what's the "scam"?

What's all the fuss about data entry jobs?
A scam is not when you have to pay a company to work for them, but when you pay them and you get nothing from them like the work they promised you. I've tried work at home data entry jobs and office jobs outside the home because I type over 13,000 keystrokes a minutes. I think people think this sounds good because sometimes you don't have to deal with the public or others, you just type, and type, and type. I've researched the work at home ones, and most of them really do just as for money, sometimes a lot of money, and give you no promise of any real work. I found there are more productive ways to earn more money from home. Jennifer
Reply:The "scam" is that they request you to pay before you can enter data. why pay when you are suppose to find a real job in the physical life? When you go to work in a real company, do you pay your future boss to hire you? No. That is why it is a 'scam"
Reply:some are not scams but the level of pay for entering the data is only good for you if you are living in a poor area of India where dinner costs 2 cents.
